Oktibbeha County supervisors extend curfew, reinstate mask mandate

Supervisors extended the county-wide curfew during Monday’s board meeting and reinstated the county’s mask mandate.

County, you will have to be home early through the holidays and you may have to wear a mask while celebrating with you loved onesthe board of supervisors met this morning and voted to extend the county-wide curfew and reinstate the county's mask mandate.

The board passed a continuous mask mandate with a 3-2 vote.they also voted to extend the county wide curfew.

It will still be from 12 a.m.

To 4 a.m.

To help limit block parties and large social gatherings.

County supervisor marvell howard said the decision to double down on protection comes as the holiday season apporaches and more people are expected to travel between counties.

Marvell howard, district 3 supervisor "people from surrounding counties that have curfews can come and go here because we've got one.

And i think if we lift ours and they keep theirs it is going to have an influence on people.

Remember, the curfew applies strictly to oktibbeha county and does not apply to the city of starkville.

But the city of starkville is already under a seperate continuous mask mandate.
