The rise in covid cases is causing some schools to switch to online classes.

Starting tomorrow - guntersville high school students will transition to remote learning.

This is the second time students have had to make this transition this month!

Waay 31's sophia borrelli spoke with the superintendent today for an update.

Guntersville city schools superintendent brett stanton said it's due to the number of faculty and staff who either have been diagnosed with coronavirus or been in close contact with someone who has.

He told me they are going to deep clean the school during this time.

I spoke to a junior at guntersville high school about how these changes are impacting students' lives.

Mercedes tilley, junior at guntersville high school: "i think the hardest part really especially for seniors or even juniors is all of the normal stuff that we used to do, we don't get to do any more."

Sophia looklive: "students enrolled in traditional learning expect a return to classrooms after thanksgiving break on monday november 30th.

In guntersville - sophia borrelli waay 31 news."

Guntersville high isn't the only school making the switch to online classes.
