A county councilman is under fire tonight for his comment about protestors.

It happened at today's county council meeting in reference to how to address them.

Fox 55'sjentill neal talked to county councilman larry brown who now takes back what he said.

?nat of councilman brown "as uneducated as they are on obviously our local government, they do vote, and unfortunately they also breed."

That's allen county district 4 councilman larry brown ... talking about racial injustice protesters at the end of today's council meeting.

His comment coming after he asked council whether they should address the protests together ... or not at all.

He told fox 55 news tonight he regrets what he said.

>"my comment was completely out of line and i apologize for that."district one councilwoman sheila curry campbell was sitting next to brown has he made the statement.

The naacp president had a lot to say afterward.

> "mr. brown has not been threw any diversity training, and everyone else at the table basically stated that they have been through some training.

My bat to the county is when are we going to set up those classes?

We gotta remember these kids are out here for a reason.

We must support them regardless of how we feel or were raised."when we asked brown if there are plans going forward to better understand protesters, this was his response:>15:01:10- 15:01:38"the thought has not crossed my mind.

From what demonstrations i have seen in downtown fort wayne, i'm not sure that's a smart approach.

Seems like the peaceful demonstrations have always ended up in some kind of disorderly conduct fashion."

That disappoints ellen baughman who's says she's been protesting since the start.> 15:06:21-15:06:37"to make comments about people that live here and pay your wages, that's messed up, and that's such an understatement.

I apologize, but i just don't even have the words to describe my disgust."

County councilman brown says he does plan to send out a press release in the coming days addressing what he said.

He suggested there be education provided so people know what the county council does and how everything works in government.
