Action news now reporter kristian lopez spoke with one man who wasn't sure if he still had a home to return to.

Pkg kristian: you can still see a lot of the destruction that was left behind here on lumpkin road in butte county.

I spoke with one man who just received the green light to return back home, he says a lot of his neighbor's homes were destroyed but his is still standing.

Max hecker/returned back home: thank god for that, i'm very fortunate.

There's very few left out here.

Two weeks after evacuating because of the bear fire - max hecker finally returned home.

Max hecker: i had to drive through the firestorm about a mile and a half.

That was horrid.... hecker was shocked to find his house completely untouched.

Hecker: im perfectly fine ill be back soon right now i just have no electricity.

Kristian: what about your neighbors?

Hecker: gone, all of them, burned out.... driving along lumpkin road you cab still see the devastation but also some homes still standing.

Hecker is thankful his home survived but asked we not show it on tv max hecker/returned back home: this is all i have so, i'll live here as long as i can.
