County Councilman Larry Brown resigns

Allen county councilman officially larry brown resigned from his seat this morning.

This comes days after his comments about protesters during an open council meeting.

Fox 55's jentill neal talked to the chairman of the republican party and the chairwoman of the democratic party about what's next.

County councilman larry brown's resignation comes days after he called protesters "un educated" and saying they unfortunately breed.

Republican party chairman steve shine is one of the people he notified about his decision.>15:43:00-15:43:16"i applaud larry for doing the right thing.

His comments were very disturbing, very interproriate caused a lot of community divisiveness.

A community that is divided can not stand."now that brown is out.

Shine says they've been approached by people interested in being appointed to the seat.

They have to be republican and a resident in the fourth district.

Shine says the allen county republican precint committee will make the decision.
